Roundabout Pre-School

Newsletter

November 2021

Dear Parents/carers,

I’d like to once again take the opportunity to congratulate our children on their fantastic behaviour, particularly when they come into Roundabout to begin a session. It always heartens us when we see that our children feel happy and supported to come into Roundabout. We are beginning to see some lovely bonds forming between new children and their peers, as well as the adults who care for them. For us at Roundabout, positive relationships are one of the most important factors in the care that we provide.

Committee news

Our annual general meeting took place on 4th November. Some of our long-serving committee members stepped down and some of our new parents agreed to take over. We would like to say a big “Thank You” to Emily Smith, who acted as Chair, Charlotte Walker, who had the role of Treasurer and Sarah Rayner, who had the role of Secretary for all their hard work and continuous commitment to Roundabout. They steered our pre-school through lockdown and the temporary re-location to the Scout Hut and, although they have decided to step down from their current roles, they will be staying on as committee members.

We would like to welcome Rebecca Leo as our new Chair, Hazel Morgan as our new Treasurer and Felicity Thompson as our new Secretary.

If you weren’t able to come to the AGM but would like to help the Committee, please speak to any of the Committee members mentioned above or send and email to roundaboutplaygroup@yahoo.co.uk and we will put you in touch with the Committee. A little help goes a long way, especially when it comes to fundraising and marketing activities, so please DO get in touch.

Lunchboxes

We ask that all parents ensure that your child’s packed lunch does not contain any of the following: nuts, pesto or any foods that may be nut based. We have achild with a number of allergies in our care who may require the use of an EpiPen if exposed to any of the above.

It is also extremely important to us all that our children are receiving a balanced diet. We would like to ask parents to put only one sweet/treat item into lunchboxes to aid us in promoting healthy eating choices.
