Roundabout Pre-School

Newsletter

Autumn term 2020

Dear parent and carers,

Following Ofsted’s formal approval of our temporary site, the Scout Hut, we wanted to provide you with some information of how Roundabout will be managed to keep the children and staff as safe as possible.

Roundabout Pre-School will temporarily re-locate to the Scout Hut on New Road Side, where we have the sole use of the building so no other activities will be taking place during the time of our rental. We are working with a view that we will be back at the portacabin at Newlaithes Primary School from the 1st October 2020.

As per government guidance, all children attending (and staff working that week) will be classed as one ‘bubble’ and will be able to access areas of learning within the Scout Hut.

We have made some changes, which will be:

Outdoor play

Children’s outdoor play will take place in the park, (permission will be sought prior to going to the park for the duration of our stay at the Scout Hut). Each child will wear a hi-vis vest with our telephone number on the back; the ratio for going to the park will be two children to one member of staff.

Drop off & pick up

Our new families will be allowed in the building for their child’s settling-in visit, this will be one parent per child only. Unfortunately, we can not allow any other parents or visitors into the building.

Upon arrival, parents and children will be asked to wait outside the building, adhering to social distancing measures that are currently in place. There will be a blue trolley outside where we would like you to place your child’s lunch, water bottle and snack. Adele & her team will meet and greet you outside to take your child into the Scout Hut to wash their hands.

Collection of your child: Please wait outside for your child’s key worker (where possible) to bring your child to you to discuss their day.

Snack and lunch containers

We ask that all parents provide their children’s snack or lunch in a resealable container with lid, clearly labelled with their child’s name.

Hygiene

All children will be required to wash their hands as soon as they enter the building, before and after eating as well after using the bathroom. This will be supervised. All staff have completed an online course in hygiene and a COVID-19 course.
