March 2018

Welcome

Hello to all, but a special welcome to all the families of our new children: Benjamin, Jett Lee and Rosa. The children have all been very grown up when Mummy, Daddy, Nanna or Grandad have dropped them off, and they have already become a real part of life at Roundabout.

I would also like you all to welcome Laura who has joined the Roundabout team. Laura will work both sessions on Wednesdays as well as Thursday and Friday mornings.

Recent closures

Unfortunately, we were unable to open on two Thursdays this month due to heavy snow. Closures or late opening primarily depend on Newlaithes Primary School as we are letting the portacabin from the school or Leeds City Council respectively. As the school site was deemed unsafe on both Thursdays, we were unable to get permission to open - even though our staff lives locally and were able to get to work. You are not expected to pay for days we are closed and your invoice will already reflect a deduction for the sessions missed on Thursday, 1 March 2018. Please contact Mrs Swift, our Office Manager, by email (roundaboutplaygroup@yahoo.co.uk) if you pay for Thursday sessions and need a revised invoice.

Spring time

We are hoping that springtime has arrived at last. We would love to get the children involved in as many ‘growing projects’ as we can; vegetables, fruits and flowers. If you have any gardening materials at home (such as seeds, compost, plant pots, etc) that you do not think you’ll get around to using – please bring them in - they would be gratefully received. Also, if you are green-fingered and would like to come in to do some planting/gardening with the children then please speak to a member of our staff.
