Roundabout Pre-School

Newsletter

March 2021

Dear parents and carers,

We hope you are enjoying the first glimpses of spring with crocuses, daffodils and hyacinths appearing everywhere and some welcome sunshine brightening our days.

With Spring just around the corner, we would love to get the children involved in as many ‘growing projects’ as we can; vegetables, fruits and flowers. If you have any gardening materials at home (such as seeds, compost, plant pots, etc) that you do not think you’ll get round to using – please bring them in. They will be gratefully received!

During this half term and the Summer term, we are looking to do many exciting activities to develop the children’s understanding of growth, change and perishing.  The children will be involved in outdoor activities that show the life cycle of plants and mini-beasts supported by stories such as the “Hungry Caterpillar and “Jack and the beanstalk”.

Easter raffle

We are going to have a Spring/ Easter raffle for which you can purchase raffle tickets online from 8th March 2021, to win a number of prizes. Contributions for this raffle would be greatly appreciated with items such as alcohol, Easter eggs, chocolate, biscuits, Easter activity/ reading books and spring items such as bulbs, plants, plant pots or crafting kits. We will be drawing the winning numbers in the last week of this term (Monday, 29 March – Thursday, 1 April 2021)

AGM

Our AGM took place on 1 February 2021. A special “Thank You” goes to our chair Emily Smith, our secretary Sarah Rayner and our treasurer Charlotte Walker, who have done a marvellous job throughout the pandemic. Roundabout is a parent led community pre-school and a registered charity. The committee members are volunteers and as such receive no remuneration for their work, so their time, commitment and leadership are really appreciated.

Emily, Sarah and Charlotte have agreed to stay on in their current roles, supported by Becki Bristow, Felicity Thompson, Hazel Morgan, Rhian Dimberline and Sara Healy who have joined the Roundabout Committee. Thank you to all parents who have stayed on as or have become Committee members.
