Spring 2024

With Spring just around the corner, we would love to get the children involved in as many ‘growing projects’ as possible, growing vegetables, fruits and flowers. If you have any gardening materials at home (such as seeds, compost, plant pots, etc) that you do not think you’ll get around to using – please bring them in. They would be gratefully received. For the next term, we are planning many exciting tasks, such as developing the children’s understanding of growth, decay, and change. We will engage the children in activities that include life cycles and mini beasts, such as the Hungry Caterpillar and Jack and the Beanstalk.

Annual Brick Build 18th - 25th of March

Throughout the week, all children will take part in a challenge to see how many wooden bricks they can stack on top of each other to make a tower. Before the event, we will send sponsorship forms home with the children – so please get as many sponsors as possible. We would love to raise money to purchase some "cozy coupe cars" for the outdoor area. As well as the setting raising money, the children will also learn new mathematical language, sequencing, counting and ordering as part of their developmental journey. We will take photos of your child with their creations and upload these to your child’s Tapestry account.

Easter raffle

We will hold our annual Spring/ Easter raffle on the 26th of March 2024. Donations for this raffle would be greatly appreciated from the week commencing the 4th of March, with items themed around Spring and Easter. Tickets are £1.00 each; you can purchase these from the 11th of March.

Bags and Water bottles

Could we ask that your child brings

1) a bag for their peg with spare clothes and for their creations made at Roundabout to take home

2) a separate lunch bag that also holds their water bottle?

It will make it easier for the children and for us to transport it all up to the parent shelter at the end of the day.

Toys from home

Please do not bring any toys from home into Roundabout. It causes a lot of emotional upset when they get broken, lost or misplaced.
