Roundabout Pre-School

Newsletter

March 2022

We hope you all had a lovely half term break and stayed well throughout. We are enjoying the first glimpses of spring with crocuses, daffodils and hyacinths appearing everywhere and some welcome sunshine brightening our days.

With Spring just around the corner, we would love to get the children involved in as many ‘growing projects’ as we can, vegetables, fruits and flowers. If you have any gardening materials at home (such as seeds, compost, plant pots, etc) that you do not think you’ll get round to using – please bring them in. They will be gratefully received!

Thank you…

We would like to thank everybody who took part in the Valentine’s Day raffle which raised £100. We will purchase new sand and water resources with the money.

On the topic of fundraising, all children have done amazingly with their brick build this week! Please bring in your sponsorship money by Friday, 11th March 2022.

Lunchboxes and snacks

We are asking all parents to ensure that your children’s lunches and snack foods do NOT contain any seeds this includes seeded bread/ sticks, houmous, peanut butter, Nutella, nuts, or pesto. We do have a child who has a severe allergy and would be grateful for your cooperation.

School readiness

Your child’s key person will be working with your child to get them “ready for big school” if they are starting their Reception year in September 2022. They will be supporting them with their listening and communication skills, behavioural expectations, independence skills with dressing and undressing, as well as supporting their social skills and tolerance. If you have any worries or concerns regarding your child going to school in September, please let me know and we can discuss this further.

Furthermore, if your child has a staggered start in September and you would like your child to attend further sessions at Roundabout, e.g. until they attend school full time, please let me know. Usually, we can accommodate morning or afternoon sessions to wrap around your child’s school sessions in September. This will help to further build confidence, resilience and be school ready; just let me know as soon as possible.
