Roundabout Pre-School

Newsletter

June 2021

Hello! We can’t believe that we are in the second half of the Summer term already! This half term takes us to the end of the academic year and the Summer holidays. The last day at Roundabout will be Friday 23rd July 2021.

School Transition

The Roundabout team is working on the transition reports for those children leaving us in July. This means that there will be no observations posted on  Tapestry, which will allow your child’s key person to focus on supporting your child ready for their next adventure to school.

Once the report has been done you will receive a notification from Tapestry, most likely w/c 28th June; there is a section for you as parents to fill in. Please ensure that you do this as your views are important to us and your child’s future Primary School. I will be sending all children’s reports to the respective schools electronically; if you have any concerns please do not hesitate to get in touch with me.

Important:You can download a copy of your child’s report to keep from your child’s Tapestry account.

School Readiness

Over the next few weeks, we will prepare the children for their school start in September by practising putting their shoes on/ taking their shoes off independently along with their clothing such as coat, jumper or cardigan. We have already started to talk about school, new friendships and teachers and we are supporting the children with any questions/ concerns they may have about going to school. Most of our children will start at Newlaithes Primary School and we would ordinarily take small groups of children for “show arounds”. However, as visits are currently not been permitted, we have photographs of specific areas for the children to view: the hall where they will eat their lunch, the Reception classroom and the Reception class’ bathrooms.

For those children staying on at Roundabout; please can parents and carers confirm sessions for September 2021 with me (if they have not already done so) and indicate if they would like to increase the number of sessions throughout the year so that we can make provision accordingly.
