April 2015

Welcome back after the Easter holidays everybody!!!! I don’t know how you feel but it felt like a lovely long break to me and I’m looking forward to seeing all our children (and staff) feeling refreshed and ready to go. We have a very exciting half term ahead of us with lots happening over the next few weeks.

Our Staff Team

Sophie has now finished her studies and has left the Roundabout team to take up an office position for the NSPCC. We wish her all the best and will miss her very much – she has promised to pop in and see us from time to time. The Roundabout committee are currently in the process of recruiting and we hope to welcome a new member of staff to the team very soon.

Children who had Sophie as their key person have now been allocated to a new member of staff. The new key person will shortly be going through termly summaries with parents (which Sophie completed before leaving Roundabout). It is always quite a tricky task to take on children some way through the academic year so I hope that parents will help the staff as much as possible to get to know their new key children.

Coming up..........

Spring has sprung!!! The children have already been discussing ideas for growing projects, and we plan to incorporate stories such as ‘Jack and The Beanstalk’, ‘The Giant Turnip’ and ‘The Very Hungry Caterpillar’ into our planning and daily activities. If you have any other Springtime stories, or stories about growth/growing things at home then please do bring them in for us to share.

We started several growing projects at the end of last term and will be keeping up to date on their progress throughout this half term. We will be growing tomatoes, peppers and several species of plants (including sunflowers).
